Export Committee and foreign trade committee organized a symposium under the title "Egyptian economic relations of Turkey: Opportunities and Challenges" with Mr. Mustafa Mekawy - Head of Commercial Representation Office in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday, January 14, 2012 in 6:30 pm
The symposium was headed by Dr. Mohamed Ghatwary ABA Chairman in addition to a large number of members. Mr. Moustafa reviewed the Egyptian-Turkish economic relations through a presentation entitled "Egypt and Turkey: trade and investment."
The most important topics issued in the presentation:
1) An overview of the Turkish economy and the most important exports and imports of Turkey
2) the most important Turkish trade agreements with countries of the world
3) Egyptian-Turkish relations
4) contractual framework for economic relations
5) volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Turkey (until 2011) and the most important commodities exchanged
6) Turkish investments in Egypt
7) proposals Egyptian Commercial Office in Turkey for the development of bilateral relations
Presentation followed by open discussion between the guest and the attendees of these proposals and how to implement their vision, as well as how to activate the relations between the two countries until the due benefit the Egyptian economy. Mr. Moustafa also confirmed his readiness to fully support the members of the Assembly in the Turkish labor market.

Export and Foreign Affairs Committee in Cooperation with US Post in Alexandria are organizing a seminar to introduce the Generalized System of Preferences- G.S.P. This program aims to encourage Egyptian made exports to the USA market under certain quality specs.

Seminar is scheduled on Sunday January 8th, 2012 at 3:30 PM at the Four Seasons San Stefano Hotel in Alexandria.

ABA has organized a joint meeting with EBA and EJB on Sunday 8/1/2012 at Four Seasons San Stefano headed by Dr./ Mohamed Bahaa El Din Ghatwary with the Head of EBA Eng./ Hussein Sabbour and EBA Board Members and also Eng./ Amr Sabbour – Head of EJB and his Board Members.
The aim of this joint meeting is the coordination among the three associations to meet the economic challenges facing the business community, and to agree on a shared economic vision for the development of the society during the transition and future periods.
During the meeting they discussed a set of ideas and insights that can contribute in making the role of the three associations more interactive with the community in general and the business community in particular. They discussed the possibility of establishing a joint project to support small-scale industries.
Also agreed on the importance of studying the legislation and laws affecting the business community directly or indirectly, such as customs laws and industrial zones and investment zones and internal trade .. etc, in addition to discussing the establishment of an independent entity to represent the business in front of various government agencies, taking into consideration the need to communicate with all stakeholders and the various political forces to assist in the formulation of economic vision in the short term or long term depending on the type of problem and its impact on the size of investment and industry.

Members of the Tourism Committee attend the workshop organized by the Egyptian Tourism Federation with Dr./ Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour - the Minister of Tourism under the title "Welcome to tourism .... " to spread tourism awareness needed among citizens to avoid any risks that may threaten the future of the tourism and the subsequent different industries and investments, on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 6:00 pm at Hilton Ramses - Cairo.

Youth Committee conducted a meeting with Mr. Mike Ducker - Entrepreneur-In-Residence in the Egypt's Competitiveness Program- USAID, and some of ECP representatives, on Tuesday September 13th, 2011 at ABA premises.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohamed El Tawil – Head of ABAYC and some of ABAYC members introduced Youth Committee's activities to participants and how they support and encourage entrepreneurs to join Young Entrepreneurs program (YEP), also they introduced the SME project and how they reach lower income entrepreneurs especially women.

At the end of the meeting, various means of cooperation between ECP and ABAYC was discussed.
